Swedish Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage concentrates on the deeper layers of the body’s muscles.  The objective is to relieve muscle tension and to break down and eliminate scar tissue and lactic acid build-up.  Deep Tissue Massage helps to loosen muscle tissue, ditoxifies the muscle and promotes circulation of oxygen in blood.

Health Benefits: This technique is ideally suited to clients who perform physical, stressful work environments, including construction trades, artists, truck drivers, labourers, and repetative administration work etc.

Lomi Lomi Style Massage

Lomi Lomi comes from the “Huna” philosophy of Polynesia.  It is essentially bodywork related to healing.  Lomi Lomi is known as “Loving Hands” massage because, like everything in the universe, it seeks harmony and love.  Lomi Lomi works gently and deeply in the muscles through continuous, flowing strokes administered with a loving touch.  This relaxes the entire being and assists with letting go of imprinted patterns and behaviors stored in the body’s cells that limit our well-being.

The Seven Principles of “Huna”

IKE               The world is what you think it is
KALA            There are no limits and everything is possible
MAKLA          Energy flows where the attention goes
MANAWA      Now is the moment of power
ALOHA          To love is to be happy
MANA           All power comes from within
PONO           Effectiveness is the measure of truth

More and more people are realizing that a complete workout routine includes not only exercise itself, but also caring for the wear-and-tear and minor injuries that naturally occur with strenuous movement. The physiological and psychological benefits of massage make it an ideal complement to a total conditioning program.

Specific injuries are treated as hamstring strains, Quads, Lower lumbar, Sciatica, Migrane Headaches ...

Who is This Massage for? Anyone who routinely stretches their physical limits through movement

Cranial Sacral Therapy

Cranial Sacral Therapy is a technique based on Cranial Osteopathy. Cranial Sacral Therapy seeks to restore the natural rhythmic movement between the bones of the skull.  It does the same for the movements of the sacrum at the base of the spine.  This aids in the circulation of Oxygen  throughout the central nervous system. Breath of Life and so enhance the body's own self-healing and self-regulating capabilities

Consider this Proverb,

"Worms will not eat living wood where the vital sap is flowing; rust will not hinder the opening of a gate when the hinges are used each day. Movement gives health and life. Stagnation brings disease and death."

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Acupressure

Acupressure is an ancient Chinese technique based on the principles of acupuncture.  It uses finger pressure (without needles) on specific points along the body.  Acupressure can access and release blocked or congested energy centres in the body.

Acupressure can help alleviate conditions such as tension, stress, aches, pains, menstrual cramps by diffusing toxic build-up accumulated in the muscle tissue.  Acupressure also works as a general preventative measure.

Lymphatic Massage

The lymphatic system circulates lymph (Latin for “clear water”) throughout the body, helping to eliminate waste from the body’s intercellular areas.  Lymph nodes are located througout the body and are very important in the defense against disease.  Manual Lymph Drainage Massage promotes the circulation of lymphatic fluid beneath the skin, speeding the removal of waste and toxins.

Hot Rock Massage

Smooth basalt and marble rocks are massaged gently onto the body, along with warm oils, to create a feeling of deep relaxation and well-being.  The rocks are then left on the body’s pressure points for optimal benefit.  Hot Rock Massage helps to balance emotional, mental and physical energies, as well as soothe sore muscles.
